Fun Facts About Me

This part is a delicate balance of "show them you're creative" and "don't scare them by being you."
I hope I got it right.

  1. My name looks like "Danny" but is pronounced “duh-nay.” I'm pretty sure my mom made it up.
  2. I was born the son of a share cropper. Just kidding – I got that from “The Jeffersons.” Remember that show?
  3. My college degree is in design, but once I started coding, I was hooked. I was already able to establish an effective visual hierarchy, group information logically, and maintain consistent branding. Now I don't have to wait for developers to build everything. The world is my oyster.
  4. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that I get to design web stuff for a living. In my free time, I like to...design web stuff. (Seriously. I think I need more outdoor hobbies.)
  1. My “15 minutes of fame” has trickled in over the years as a series of local TV commercials, B2B voiceovers, and one lucky encounter with the Four Tops at the now-defunct French Quarter Hotel in Memphis.
  2. I'm a natural redhead. This caused me a lot of grief in my childhood years, but I get compliments on it now.
  3. If I were to work in another field, I'd probably flip houses. I once tiled a bathroom floor by candlelight during a winter storm. Thin-set waits for no man.
  4. Mispronounciation drives me crazy. I'm grateful to those who correct my mistakes and I don't hesitate to do the same. This is rarely appreciated. (I'm sorry, but there's just no “x” in “espresso,” damn it.)
